ICE – http://www.freiwilligendienst.de/ –  “Initiative Christians for Europe” which was founded by Heinz Gerd Schikofsky (a German Jesuit alumni whom I know personally) and a Jesuit father some 30 years ago –
is offering positions to do a voluntary year in Germany. ICE is seeking – particularly but not limited to – young alumni from Jesuit colleges in Europe who cannot find a job and who are interested in doing a voluntary year in Germany.
This is a concrete and great opportunity also for young Spanish alumni – to widen the personal horizon, get professional experience, to learn German in Germany and to get the chance to find perhaps a permanent job later in Germany.

ICE is acting in the frame of the European Program “Youth for Europe”, a European Voluntary Service for European youth.
ICE holds the corresponding EU certificate. Financially the whole voluntary service program is paid for by the EU.

Heinz Gerd would like to contact Spanish Jesuit colleges and inform them about the ICE program and is asking for the addresses / names of contact persons / names of directors of the Spanish Jesuit colleges.

I suppose that Heinz Gerd does not know that the Spanish Federation of Jesuit Alumni  – http://www.antiguosalumnosdejesuitas.net/ – has started a program to help Spanish Jesuit alumni seeking work.
It would be ideal if the Spanish Federation, respectively the local Spanish associations could join forces with Heinz Gerd and ICE since the Spanish Jesuit alumni associations are dealing anyhow directly with the problem of unemployment amongst Jesuit alumni/ae.
Also, it is probably easier to reach the alumni in need via the local alumni associations than via the colleges who most often lack the new addresses of their alumni.

Please contact Heinz Gerd by email/telephone and discuss together on how you want to proceed.

Heinz Gerd writes further that the allocation of the positions for the next voluntary year has already started.
It is therefore urgent to act timely.
I suggest that the Spanish Federation reserves a certain number of places for young Jesuit alumni from Spain.

En todo.
Best regards,
Chris
